DESCRIPTION

An air mass sensor keeps track of the amount of air coming in through the air filter, so that the ECU can adjust the amount of fuel getting into the engine. The flap is connected to the potentiometer which then sends a signal to the ECU.

Perfectly functioning air mass sensors are essential for fuel injected engines to run efficiently and reliably

The symptoms of a faulty or failing mass air flow sensor are:
Low engine power
Poor fuel economy
Engine is very hard to start or turn over
Stalling shortly after starting
Engine hesitates or drags while under load or at idle
